Sculpture of Joe Gomer, Tuskegee Airman
I'm currently sculpting a life size statue of Joe Gomer, a Tuskegee airman which will be cast in bronze and installed in the hometown of Mr. Gomer in Iowa Falls, Iowa. The sculpture is my first ever war statue and as such I've had to do a lot of research on clothing and gear that the Tuskegee airman would have worn back in the 1940's. Although much of my work incorporates lots of clothing, this one is no exception. I still have more work to do, but this is how he looks now.
